Meet Lauren

Welcome, friend! I’m so glad you’re here.

Hey there! I’m Lauren—designer, mom, storyteller, former archaeologist (yes, really), and the heart behind Lauren William Studio. Around here, you’ll find a little bit of everything: home design with soul, garden dirt under my nails, family chaos I wouldn’t trade for the world, and an 1890s Buffalo house that we’re lovingly turning into a living classroom.

Before I was blogging about hydrangeas and DIY-ing my way through this century-old Victorian, I was digging through ancient ruins and photographing temples in Cambodia, Egypt, and Nepal. That love for architecture, history, and beauty still shapes everything I do—whether I’m sketching out a room makeover or sharing a sweet family tradition passed down through generations.

Lauren William Studio is where design meets real life. It’s where I chronicle the process (and mess) of creating a home that feels like you. It’s not always perfect, but it’s always rooted in story.

So pour yourself something bubbly, settle in, and welcome to the studio!

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk (unbeatable classic)

Guilty pleasure

A McDonald’s Diet Coke in a Styrofoam cup packed with nugget ice (don’t judge, it’s elite)

1950s soul & blues — The Chi-Lites, Koko Taylor, The Temptations… give me all the vintage vibes

Currently binging

Everything Korea produces — fully obsessed with Korean cinema (and not even sorry about it)

favorite memory

Watching the Taj Mahal from the roof of a junky hotel in India — unforgettable.
And every single memory made traveling with my husband and son.

Extrovert through and through — As my mother always said “Lauren has never met a stranger!”

FAQ

I started blogging in 2017 after launching my Instagram account. What began as a creative outlet quickly became a way to archive my home, design, and family projects. It’s part story, part scrapbook, and part behind-the-scenes—all shared in real-time as I renovate our 1890 Victorian and juggle life as a designer-mom.

Lauren William Studio grew out of a desire to share more than just pretty pictures—I wanted to tell the story behind them. It’s a space for slow living, intentional design, heritage restoration, family chaos, and the little magic moments that don’t always make it into an Instagram caption. It’s also where I get to be fully myself, quirks and all.

For photo editing: Lightroom and Canva (for graphics and social templates).
For interiors: SketchUp and AutoCAD—my right and left hands when it comes to space planning and bringing design ideas to life.

As much as I wish I had a more charming answer, Amazon wins for convenience (especially at 10 p.m. when inspiration hits). But honestly? My favorite finds are always the spontaneous ones—the thing I wasn’t even looking for, discovered on a random aisle at a local shop or antique store. Serendipity always wins.
